Clamshell Heat Press Machines
Clamshell heat presses use a mechanism with top and bottom plates that resemble a clam shell or jaws. They are usually cheaper, sturdier, and require less space. They come in all sizes from smaller than 15x15 to 20x25 inches. When you press the garment the top platen comes down using a hinge mechanism. The alternative to a clamshell design is a swing-away heat press. These require more room but are safer and easier to operate.
